On the evening of March 1, 2026, Wan Zhiqiang, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of StarRock Meizu Group in China, made a disclosure during a livestream session. He shared that the Meizu 23 smartphone had indeed been developed, but unfortunately, it would not be launched in the market. Additionally, he clarified that the Meizu 22, Note 16 series, and Lucky 08 models were still available for purchase as usual, and there would be no price hikes for these products in the foreseeable future. Notably, the 1TB version of the Meizu 22 had already been completely sold out through official sales channels. In terms of system support, Flyme, the operating system, would cease to roll out significant version upgrades but would persist in offering fundamental maintenance services. It's worth mentioning that Meizu had previously announced a strategic pivot, halting its in-house hardware development for new domestic smartphone offerings and redirecting its focus towards an AI-centric software product development path.
