Microsoft recently withdrew its update plan for the Smart App Control feature, confirming that this exclusive Windows 11 security feature still requires a clean installation to enable, with the previously promised reinstallation-free solution being postponed. This feature enhances system security by blocking unverified or potentially harmful applications, and Microsoft claims its impact on PC performance is lower than that of traditional antivirus software. Last December, Microsoft tested the removal of the clean installation restriction and planned to roll it out in January this year, but it has now been removed from the documentation, with plans to release it in a future version.
