Now, NATO has taken a significant step forward by officially sanctioning the iPhone and iPad for managing NATO-classified data, provided they adhere to specific control requirements. This move marks them as the inaugural and, at present, the sole consumer-grade mobile devices to achieve such a distinction. Apple has affirmed that, when subjected to rigorous management protocols, its devices are capable of securely handling classified information up to the 'NATO Restricted' classification level, all without the necessity for supplementary, specialized security software or unique configurations.
