Brazil's antitrust regulatory agency has launched another investigation into Apple, this time expanding its scope from the App Store to the iPhone's built-in NFC payment functionality. Previously, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) in Brazil had already initiated an antitrust investigation into Apple's App Store, compelling Apple to open up third-party app stores and external payment methods locally. Now, CADE is questioning whether Apple's fee model for NFC payment access constitutes unfair competition.
