Academician Chen Zhongwei's team has successfully conducted field tests of ultra-low-temperature lithium batteries in Mohe, Heilongjiang Province. This achievement signifies that China's independently developed battery technology can now enable 'plug-and-play' functionality for devices operating under extreme low-temperature conditions, effectively resolving the longstanding issue of battery energy supply in frigid regions. The ultra-low-temperature battery technology, coupled with its complementary artificial intelligence power management system, both developed by the team, have surmounted the challenge of traditional lithium batteries' subpar performance in cold climates. Test results indicate that the battery excels in environments as frigid as minus 34 degrees Celsius. It is anticipated to eliminate the problem of batteries 'succumbing to freezing' in extremely cold areas, bolstering China's energy independence and the dependability of technological equipment in such settings, while also offering a Chinese solution to the international community. Looking ahead, this technology holds promise for widespread application in 3C electronic products and outdoor operational terminals.
