Technology media blogs have outlined the Apple iOS 26.4 update, which is expected to be released in spring 2026 and will focus on integrating a new version of Siri based on large language models. The new Siri will adopt a new core architecture, featuring logical reasoning capabilities and significantly enhanced comprehension and execution abilities. The promised new functionalities include personal context understanding, screen awareness, and deeper application integration. Technically, the backend model for the new Siri has been developed through collaboration between Apple and Google's Gemini team, with Apple adopting a 'self-developed + collaborative' approach while adhering to a 'privacy-first' principle. The iOS 26.4 beta is expected to launch from late February to early March, with the official version to be rolled out in April. Although this update does not make Siri a fully-fledged chatbot, it is seen as a significant step towards achieving 'fully-fledged AI' in iOS 27.
