AutoFlight has taken the wraps off the V5000 Sky Dragon, the world's largest 5-ton eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft), and triumphantly executed its maiden conversion flight at the Bailianhu Low-Altitude Base. At present, the takeoff weights of most mainstream eVTOLs range from 1.5 to 3 tons, accommodating 4 to 6 passengers. By contrast, the Sky Dragon elevates the takeoff weight to the 5-ton category. Its passenger version can carry up to 10 individuals, while its cargo variant is capable of transporting goods weighing tons, thus broadening its application scope to encompass intercity business travel and other domains.
