Since 2011, when Tim Cook, now 65 years old, assumed the role of Apple's CEO, the company's market capitalization has skyrocketed from $350 billion to nearly $4 trillion. As Cook is laying the groundwork to transfer leadership of the design team to John Ternus, the 50-year-old frontrunner in the succession race, by the end of 2025, Apple could well be on the cusp of welcoming a new CEO. Jeff Williams, who previously oversaw the team, has stepped down from his role. Ternus currently holds the distinction of being Apple's youngest executive. Having joined Apple in 2001, he now heads the hardware engineering team. He is widely recognized for his composed demeanor, meticulous attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of the supply chain. Analysts are of the opinion that given the intricate market landscape Apple is currently navigating, the new CEO will need to be equipped with the acumen to rise to the occasion and overcome challenges.
