On January 23, the Beijing Municipal Market Regulation Bureau, in line with the national standard titled 'Requirements for Real-Name Registration and Activation of Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles', issued a reminder. It stated that drone owners within the city must finish real-name registration via the Comprehensive Management Platform for Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. This registration process encompasses providing information such as identity details and product models. The new regulation is set to officially come into effect on May 1, 2026. For drones that have already been sold, owners are required to complete the registration and activation procedures by May 2027. Any drones that fail to meet this deadline will be prohibited from flying.
