Sources within the supply chain have verified that Apple is set to launch its inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Fold, in September 2026. This device showcases a design that folds from left to right, reminiscent of a book. It sports a seamless 7.76-inch flexible inner screen without any punch holes, offering a high-definition resolution of 2713×1920. Additionally, it comes with a 5.49-inch outer screen that features a punch-hole design and a resolution of 2088×1422.
In terms of hardware, the iPhone Fold is equipped with an A20 series chip, boasting 12GB of RAM. It is powered by a robust 5400-5800mAh battery and supports side-mounted Touch ID fingerprint recognition for enhanced security. The camera setup is impressive, featuring a dual 48-megapixel rear camera configuration.
To achieve a virtually crease-free appearance, Apple has employed innovative technologies, including polymer-filled hinge gaps, a metal support plate, and dynamic algorithm compensation. When unfolded, the device measures a sleek 4.5-4.8mm in thickness, while in its folded state, it maintains a compact 9-9.5mm profile.
The iPhone Fold is anticipated to command a starting price range of $1800 to $2500 in the U.S. market, positioning it as the most expensive iPhone model in Apple's illustrious history.
