The official Weibo account of Baidu's "Xiaodu Xiaodu" posted an apology letter, stating that from the end of 2025 onwards, it will offer a complimentary upgrade to the "Super Xiaodu" large - model service for all sold devices. However, following the upgrade, the default voice tone of some smart speaker assistants underwent a change. This alteration prompted feedback from users who found the new tone unfamiliar and were not accustomed to it. Xiaodu acknowledged that it had carefully reviewed the user feedback and extended an apology. It recognized that a familiar voice tone acts as an emotional link connecting users with the product. The upgrade is designed to deliver a more robust intelligent experience and is not meant to usurp user preferences. Currently, Xiaodu has assembled a dedicated team for optimization, and all relevant devices have been updated. Users now have the freedom to select voice tones on the "Voice Tone Settings" page within the Xiaodu App. Alternatively, they can directly instruct the device by saying "Xiaodu Xiaodu, switch voice tone" to revert to the classic tone. Xiaodu expressed its gratitude to users for their feedback and pledged to show greater deference to user choices and habits in future upgrades.
