Apple has set its sights on launching the OLED - equipped version of the MacBook Pro in 2026. Samsung Display has made substantial investments in establishing an 8.6 - generation OLED production line in Asan, South Korea. Mass production at this facility is anticipated to commence by the end of the second quarter of 2026. Once in full swing, it will supply Apple with 14 - inch and 16 - inch OLED panels.
Apple is likely to unveil the 2026 MacBook Pro, which will be powered by the M5 Pro/Max chips, on January 28. The OLED version of this MacBook Pro is projected to enter the market in the fourth quarter of the same year. In the meantime, Samsung is actively engaging in discussions with other PC manufacturers to explore potential collaborations. This is aimed at ensuring that its production capacity is utilized to the fullest extent.
