On January 16, reports emerged indicating that, due to the surge in storage costs within the upstream supply chain, several mobile phone makers have recently trimmed their full-year orders for complete devices. Specifically, Xiaomi and OPPO have slashed their orders by more than 20%, Vivo by nearly 15%, and Transsion has adjusted its shipment target to below 70 million units. These reductions are predominantly focused on mid-range, low-end, and overseas products. In reaction to these reports, representatives from Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and Transsion have chosen not to issue any official comments. Meanwhile, Huawei, capitalizing on cost efficiencies from localized supply chains, retains a healthy profit margin and is internally deliberating price cuts for its Pura, Nova, and Enjoy series in a bid to gain market share. Honor, despite grappling with the same storage cost pressures, remains steadfast in its objective to secure a 15% market share in China.
