Global PC Shipments Skyrocket by 9% in 2025, with Lenovo Dominating the Market

On January 13, 2026, market - research firm Omdia unveiled data indicating that in the fourth quarter of 2025, the combined global shipments of desktops, laptops, and workstations soared to 75 million units. This represents a remarkable year - on - year increase of 10.1%. For the entire year, shipments hit 279.5 million units, marking a 9.2% uptick compared to 2024. Breaking it down, laptop shipments for the whole of 2025 reached 220.4 million units, showing an 8% growth. Meanwhile, desktop shipments climbed to 59 million units, a significant 14.4% rise. Lenovo emerged as the undisputed leader, firmly securing the top position. Throughout the year, it shipped over 70 million units. Trailing behind Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple, and ASUS took the second to fifth places respectively. Despite the overall growth in the market, the supply chain for memory and storage has become increasingly strained. Prices in this sector have been on a continuous upward trajectory. Omdia projects that in the first quarter of 2026, PC DRAM prices could surge by an additional 50%.
