In a broader move to align with regulatory requirements globally, Apple has implemented modifications to its iOS software in Japan, ensuring adherence to the nation's newly enacted laws aimed at fostering competition. On Wednesday, Apple unveiled its plan to comply with Japan's Mobile Software Competition Act (MSCA). This act was approved the previous year and came into force this week. The modifications encompass changes to payment methods, the availability of alternative app marketplaces, and browser options within the iOS ecosystem. Apple clarified that these enhancements, achieved through close cooperation with Japanese regulatory bodies, are now integrated into iOS version 26.2.
