On December 11, news emerged indicating that Samsung had initially intended to upgrade the rear camera setup of the standard Galaxy S26 model. Nevertheless, faced with Apple's decision to keep the price of the standard iPhone 17 model steady, Samsung opted to scrap the camera upgrade plan as a cost-saving measure. Consequently, the Galaxy S26 will retain the same rear camera specifications as the Galaxy S25, featuring a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens.

Samsung has scheduled the commencement of mass production for the Galaxy S26 Ultra this month. Meanwhile, the production of the standard and Plus versions has been delayed until the early part of next year.
