According to insights from tech bloggers, the iPhone 18 series is currently undergoing tests for integrating under-screen 3D facial recognition technology, with the goal of seamlessly concealing the Face ID components. Apple has been diligently developing this technology for several years, with initial plans to unveil it alongside the iPhone 16 Pro series in 2024. However, the rollout was delayed owing to unsatisfactory testing outcomes.

Thanks to the implementation of under-screen Face ID technology, the iPhone 18 series will feature a notably smaller Dynamic Island.
