Recently, JD Logistics, in partnership with AutoFlight, CATL, and several other companies, has triumphantly executed the inaugural test flight of a 2-tonne-class eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft. This flight was specifically designed for cross-city low-altitude logistics operations in the rugged mountainous areas of the Guizhou Plateau. The eVTOL aircraft embarked on its journey from Xiuwen County, located in Guiyang City, and after a 40-minute flight, successfully touched down at Jiuzhou General Airport in Huangping County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, covering a distance of 118 kilometers and achieving seamless 'point-to-point' transit. This historic event represents the first-ever cross-city low-altitude logistics flight of a tonne-class eVTOL on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The aircraft has already secured the 'three airworthiness certificates' from the Civil Aviation Administration, marking a significant leap forward in the utilization of tonne-class eVTOLs for logistics in China's mountainous regions.
