On November 20, China's independently developed 2-ton Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft accomplished a cross-city low-altitude cargo flight test in the hilly and mountainous areas of the Guizhou Plateau. The aircraft embarked on its journey from Xiuwen County in Guiyang City and, after a 40-minute flight, safely touched down at Jiuzhou General Airport in Huangping County, which is situated 118 kilometers away. This achievement signifies a significant new breakthrough in logistics applications within plateau and mountainous regions. Given its runway-independent nature, pure electric propulsion, and zero carbon emissions, this eVTOL aircraft holds immense potential for future use in urban short-distance transportation, logistics, and emergency rescue operations.
