On November 20, 2025, Google made an exciting announcement: the Quick Share file-sharing feature within the Android system has achieved cross-platform compatibility with Apple's AirDrop. This functionality is initially available on the Pixel 10 series phones, encompassing the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Fold.
With this new integration, users can effortlessly configure the feature to seamlessly transfer photos, videos, and files between Android devices and Apple gadgets like iPhones, iPads, and Macs. For Apple device owners, it's necessary to set the "AirDrop" visibility to "Everyone for 10 Minutes". Meanwhile, Pixel 10 users are required to activate the corresponding settings or enter the receive mode.
All the files received will be automatically stored in the "Files" app on the Android system. This innovative feature is built on a multi-layered security protection mechanism. It utilizes peer-to-peer direct connections for data transmission, ensuring the utmost privacy and security for users. Looking ahead, this convenient cross-platform sharing capability is set to be rolled out to a wider range of Android devices.
