Recently, a number of users have reported encountering an issue where, after wiping their Xingyu Orange iPhone 17 Pro Max models with regular wet wipes, significant portions of the coating on the lens edges and frame began to peel off. This exposed the underlying silver aluminum alloy material, triggering heated debates among netizens. Prior to this, there had already been reports of color fading problems with this particular model, with some devices exhibiting a transition from orange to a rose gold hue.

Some analysts speculate that this issue may be linked to the anodizing process employed in the manufacturing of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. They suggest that the coloring layer's thickness might have been compromised during production, resulting in decreased wear resistance. Furthermore, if the wet wipes contain alcohol or other chemical agents, this could potentially expedite the dissolution and peeling of the coating. Although Apple has not yet released an official statement on this specific matter, it did previously acknowledge color fading issues in certain batches of the product. In response, the company implemented selective recall measures and advised users to steer clear of alcohol-based cleaning products.
