Renowned tech leaker Mark Gurman has revealed that the iPhone Air 2 is slated for a March 2027 release, arriving alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. In a nod to its 20th anniversary, Apple is also expected to roll out a special-edition iPhone in September 2027. This commemorative model is rumored to feature a curved screen and an under-display front-facing camera, adding a touch of innovation to the milestone.
Furthermore, in the autumn of 2026, Apple has plans to launch the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone, diversifying its product lineup to cater to a wider range of consumer preferences.
Earlier leaks had hinted at the inclusion of an ultra-wide-angle camera in the iPhone Air 2. However, Mark Gurman points out that while such an addition is technically achievable, the limited real estate on the back of the device may render the upgrade impractical. Despite this, the introduction of new cameras and an enhanced battery life are still poised to be key selling points, enticing potential buyers.
Gurman also disclosed that the iPhone Air 2, initially pegged for a 2027 launch, will be powered by a cutting-edge 2nm chip. This move underscores Apple's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Although the iPhone Air series has seen relatively low market demand, Apple appears determined to press ahead with the release of the iPhone Air 2, perhaps banking on its loyal customer base and the allure of its latest innovations.
