Recently, whispers have been circulating that Apple has ditched the iPhone Air series, fueled by reports of no new product launches planned for 2026. However, this isn't the full story. Owing to the lackluster market performance of the first-generation iPhone Air, Apple has indefinitely shelved the release of the second-generation model, which was initially slated for a fall 2026 debut, and no revised timeline has been announced yet. That said, Apple hasn't thrown in the towel entirely, as some of its R&D teams are still forging ahead with related development efforts. The next-gen iPhone Air might make its entrance alongside the iPhone 18 and other models in the spring of 2027, boasting an upgraded chip and extended battery life.
