On November 10, TrendForce's latest survey revealed that global smartphone panel shipments are anticipated to hit 586 million units in the third quarter of 2025. This marks an 8.1% quarter - over - quarter (QoQ) increase and a 5.3% year - over - year (YoY) rise.
The primary driving force behind this growth is the release of the iPhone 17 series, along with new offerings from other prominent smartphone brands in the latter half of the year. In the third quarter, there was a sustained uptick in the demand for AMOLED panels. On the other hand, LCD panels held steady in terms of shipments within the entry - level smartphone and repair markets.
Looking ahead, it's projected that the annual smartphone panel shipments will reach 2.243 billion units in 2025. This represents a 3.4% YoY increase and will set a recent record high.
