Despite the underwhelming sales of the current-generation iPhone Air, Apple remains committed to its production and release plans, adhering to its pre-established timeline. According to reports, Apple is set to unveil the iPhone Air 2 in 2026, followed by an upgrade to the third generation in 2027. Moreover, the company maintains its production volume expectations for the third and fourth quarters of 2025. However, analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo have highlighted the sluggish market demand for the iPhone Air, noting that the supply chain has slashed production capacity by over 80% and redirected resources toward manufacturing the iPhone 17 series. This model has seen lackluster global sales, with particularly poor performance in the Chinese market, where first-week sales are estimated to reach only around 50,000 units. In light of these challenges, Apple may need to consider implementing a price reduction strategy or enhancing the features of the next-generation product. Of course, a substantial price hike could also potentially transform it into a highly sought-after, "must-have" device.
