According to a report released by Runto, in the third quarter of 2025, the overall sales volume of China's smart speaker market across all sales channels reached 3.057 million units. This marked an 11.9% decline compared to the same period in the previous year. Meanwhile, sales revenue amounted to 860 million yuan, representing a 4.0% year-on-year decrease. However, the average price of smart speakers rose to 280 yuan, an 8.9% increase year-on-year.

Among all the players in the market, Xiaomi emerged as the leader, capturing a 48.8% share of the sales volume. This was a significant 6-percentage-point increase from the previous year, as its share soared from 33.7% in 2023 to the current level. Xiaomi's dominance can be attributed to its seamless ecosystem integration that encompasses humans, vehicles, and homes. Additionally, the strengths of its Super Xiaomi AI technology played a crucial role in securing its top position in the market.

Baidu took the second spot with a 32.8% market share. On the other hand, Tmall Genie saw its share drop to 16%. The combined market share of these top three brands reached a staggering 97.2%, indicating a highly concentrated market structure.

In the high-end segment of the market, the Xiaomi Sound 2 MAX, which was launched in September, made an immediate impact. It sold over a thousand units within just one week of its release. Alongside Huawei, this model contributed to the remarkable 42% year-on-year growth in the market for models priced over 1,000 yuan. Moreover, screen-equipped models such as the Family Screen Pro8 played a part in driving up the screen penetration rate to 17.4%.
