Some netizens shared their experiences, stating that after applying for an eSIM service, they encountered restrictions on their phone functions. Additionally, they received "high-risk card number alerts" from China Telecom and China Mobile, prompting them to undergo secondary real-name verification.
In response to these reports, the three major telecom operators clarified that such risk alerts are not directly linked to the eSIM service itself. Instead, they may be triggered by various factors, including prolonged periods of number inactivity, making a high volume of calls in a short span, or frequently switching between different terminal devices. The system is designed to automatically send out alerts upon detecting any abnormal behavior patterns.
