The UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal has determined that Apple's imposition of a commission rate as high as 30% on app developers within the App Store represents an abuse of its dominant market position. The tribunal considered this practice to be both unfair and excessively burdensome in terms of cost. This verdict emerged from a class-action lawsuit that encompassed around 20 million iPhone and iPad users across the UK, with the possibility of compensation amounting to up to £1.5 billion (roughly equivalent to $2 billion).
