According to data released by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) on the 21st, in September 2025, Japan witnessed a remarkable 86.4% year-on-year increase in personal computer (PC) shipments, totaling 1.445 million units. The shipment value also saw a significant rise, climbing 49.8% year-on-year to 129.7 billion yen. Notably, notebook computers stood out with a stellar performance, recording a 93.3% surge in shipments to 1.307 million units and a 49.8% increase in shipment value to 112.8 billion yen. Both the volume and value of shipments have surpassed the levels of the same period in the previous year for 15 consecutive months. This robust growth was primarily fueled by Japanese corporate and individual users accelerating the replacement of devices that were nearing the end of Microsoft Windows 10 support (which officially concluded on October 14).
