Apple is gearing up to unveil its inaugural 7.6-inch inward-folding iPhone in 2026, with Samsung Display initially set to be the sole provider of OLED panels. This deal is anticipated to constitute 40% of Samsung's overall shipments of foldable panels. In light of this, Samsung Display is ramping up its A4 production line, with the ambition of boosting monthly production capacity to 30,000 units by the second quarter of 2026. Mass production of Apple's foldable OLED panels is projected to commence in mid-2026, with the initial order volume projected to fall between 6 million and 8 million units. These panels will incorporate LTPO thin-film transistor technology and CoE technology. Industry analysts note that Apple might subsequently bring LG Display and other companies on board as secondary suppliers to diversify its supply chain and mitigate risks.
