According to a report from India Today, this past summer, 26-year-old diver Kshitij Zodape found himself in a perilous situation while diving in the Bay of Bengal, close to Puducherry, India. As he descended to a depth of roughly 36 meters, his weight belt unexpectedly detached, causing him to lose control and shoot upwards rapidly. In that critical moment, the Apple Watch Ultra he had on automatically activated its alarm feature. The piercing, high-decibel alarm sound it emitted successfully drew the attention of a nearby boat, which ultimately led to his rescue.
