On September 18, Meta Platforms (META.O) rolled out the latest iteration of Ray-Ban smart glasses—the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2. These new glasses boast a notably extended battery life and 3K video recording capabilities, all starting at just $379. In a groundbreaking move, Meta also introduced its inaugural smart glasses with a built-in display: the Meta Ray-Ban Display, priced at $799. These innovative glasses feature an integrated screen on the right lens, which can show text messages, facilitate video calls, provide map navigation, and display visual query results from Meta AI services. Moreover, the glasses come equipped with a novel control system. Users can now navigate the main interface through intuitive gesture recognition using a wristband worn on the hand, or by simply sliding their finger along the frame. Additionally, Meta announced the launch of the Oakley Vanguard smart glasses, specifically designed for athletes.
