Despite having rolled out the Vision Pro, Apple hasn't shelved its pursuit of crafting lighter-weight smart glasses. These are anticipated to hit the market within the next 12 to 16 months. Unlike some high-tech eyewear, these smart glasses won't come equipped with a display. Instead, they'll rely on being connected to an iPhone to handle data processing tasks.

The functionalities of these glasses are expected to be fairly standard. A new iteration of Siri is projected to offer intelligent assistance. However, it's still up in the air whether a version tailored for the Chinese domestic market will be available.

Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had forecasted that Apple would introduce such a product in either 2026 or 2027. It'll still be a few years before we see smart glasses that can display content directly through their lenses. The main hurdle here is the technology for miniaturization and weight reduction. The aim is to make the product's form and size akin to that of regular, lightweight glasses.

Gurman is of the opinion that, given Apple's strong brand presence and well-established ecosystem, the product is poised to offer a satisfactory user experience and perform well in the market.
