On September 13, 2025, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, paid a visit to the Corning factory located in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. During this visit, he granted an exclusive interview to Jim Cramer, the host of CNBC. While at the factory, Cook took the opportunity to showcase the brand-new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air. He highlighted that the iPhone Air manages to deliver professional-grade performance despite its more compact design.

When questioned about the concerns surrounding the iPhone Air’s battery life, Cook made it clear that its performance in this regard is nothing short of exceptional. He explained that the iPhone Air’s eSIM-only design, which does away with the physical SIM card slot, is a game-changer. By removing the slot, the battery can now occupy the space that was previously taken up by the SIM card. This innovative design leads to a larger battery capacity and, consequently, a longer-lasting battery.

Moreover, Cook revealed that Apple has plans to invest in the renovation of the Corning factory. This investment is aimed at strengthening their collaborative efforts in the realm of consumer electronics glass manufacturing.
