According to a report from the South Korean media outlet The Elec, Apple is poised to introduce all-new MacBook Pro models in 2026. These models will come with OLED displays and be available in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. The OLED panels for these devices will be provided solely by Samsung Display. Samsung is actively investing in its 8.6-generation production line, which leverages oxide thin-film transistor technology. This line is projected to manufacture 15,000 OLED panels each month, translating to an annual production capacity of 10 million panels. Industry experts predict that the yearly shipment volume for OLED-equipped MacBook Pro models will reach approximately 5 million units. Moreover, Apple is considering ditching the notch design in favor of a Dynamic Island pill-shaped cutout. The company will also retain ProMotion technology and incorporate LTPO panels to enable a variable refresh rate spanning from 10Hz to 120Hz.
