As of now, details regarding the battery capacities of the four iPhone 17 series models have surfaced, covering both the Chinese variant (which employs a physical SIM card slot) and the U.S. variant (which utilizes eSIM technology).

Notably, the battery capacity of the U.S. version of the iPhone 17 Pro Max has, for the first time, exceeded the 5000mAh mark, reaching an impressive 5088mAh. In contrast, its Chinese counterpart boasts a battery capacity of 4823mAh. The iPhone 17 Pro in the U.S. market comes with a 4252mAh battery, whereas the Chinese version is equipped with a 3988mAh battery. The iPhone 17 Air maintains a consistent battery capacity across both regions, standing at 3149mAh.

The variance in battery capacities between the two versions can be primarily attributed to the U.S. model's adoption of eSIM technology. By eliminating the need for a physical SIM card slot, this design choice frees up valuable space within the device, allowing for a larger battery capacity.
