Based on an IDC report, in the second quarter of 2025, global shipments of wrist-worn devices soared to 49.22 million units, marking a 12.3% year-on-year surge. Breaking it down, smartwatch shipments hit 38.27 million units, showing a 10.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, smart band shipments reached 10.95 million units, a significant 20.6% rise year-on-year.
Huawei emerged as the leader among global wrist-worn device manufacturers, shipping a remarkable 9.9 million units and securing a 20.2% market share. This represents an 11.7% year-on-year jump in shipments. The company's sustained dominance can be credited to its relentless pursuit of technological innovation and its ability to elevate product experiences for consumers.
Following Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple took the second and third spots, with shipments of 9.5 million and 7.4 million units respectively. Samsung and BBK rounded out the top five, claiming the fourth and fifth positions.
