Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 10, comprising four models: iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Notably, the iPhone 17 Air, distinguished by its ultra-slim design that precludes a physical SIM card slot, will exclusively support eSIM technology. Consequently, the mainland China version of the iPhone 17 Air will necessarily rely on eSIM functionality. As of now, China Unicom has issued a statement confirming its business support for Apple's eSIM technology, and China Mobile has similarly indicated plans to progressively roll out eSIM services across the country. Conversely, the status of China Telecom's eSIM service upgrades remains uncertain. Consequently, the extent of eSIM support for the mainland China version of the iPhone 17 Air has garnered significant consumer interest.
