The latest data from Canalys reveals that the Latin American smartphone market experienced a 2% year-on-year growth in shipments during the second quarter of 2025, amounting to a total of 34.3 million units. Samsung led the pack with 11 million units shipped, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. Notably, the Galaxy A06 and A16 models contributed to over 60% of Samsung's total shipments. Xiaomi came in second place with 6.7 million units shipped, also experiencing an 8% year-on-year growth, setting a new record in the process. Motorola, on the other hand, saw a decline of 10% in shipments, totaling 5.1 million units, and ranked third. Honor witnessed a significant surge of 70% in shipments, reaching 2.9 million units and securing the fourth position. Transsion, however, experienced a 23% drop in shipments, totaling 2.4 million units, placing it in fifth place.
