Snap is planning to make massive moves with its upcoming AR Glasses, which are reportedly set to launch later this year.
A report claims that Snap will release the glasses ahead of its rivals in the industry.
According to a report by 9to5Google, Snap is close to launching its new and improved AR glasses soon, with a targeted timeline that will take place sometime in the fall.
Alex Heath's newsletter, Sources, previously said that Snap is set to preview its new AR glasses soon, and it would reportedly give the world an idea about what the updated spectacles deliver to users.
As per 9to5Google, Snap's AR glasses will release ahead of its Android XR competitor, which is set to debut its AR glasses with a display in 2027. XREAL, on the other hand, would reportedly launch its AR glasses with a display by the end of 2026.
UploadVR later corroborated the claims of the newsletter, claiming that Snap is set to unveil its new AR glasses under the Spectacles lineup, which would cost a whopping $2,500 retail price.
This is a hefty price for AR glasses with a display as it costs over three times as much as Meta's Ray-Ban Display glasses, which currently retail for $800.
The price of Snap's AR glasses is similar to that of the Apple Vision Pro, which launched and retails for $2,499.99 as of press time.
