The 15th National Games, set to take place from November 9 to 21, 2025, will be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao—marking a historic first for this tripartite collaboration in organizing a large-scale sporting event. In line with Guangzhou Municipal Government's vision for fostering a robust sports city, the plan emphasizes leveraging the combined expertise and international networks of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to host high-profile international competitions. A key objective is to facilitate a joint bid for the World Cup and other major multi-sport events. Hong Kong has demonstrated an open and welcoming stance towards this initiative, pledging active engagement in communication and cooperation. This collaboration not only aligns with the national strategy for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area but also fosters integrated development across sports, culture, tourism, commerce, and other sectors within the three regions.
