From August 3rd to 9th, 2025, Guangdong province reported 1,387 new locally transmitted cases of Chikungunya fever, with the majority of cases concentrated in Foshan, and additional cases also reported in Guangzhou and Zhanjiang. Currently, the rapid escalation of the outbreak has been initially brought under control, and the implemented prevention and control measures are gradually yielding positive results. Nonetheless, given the widespread nature of the disease, the risk of importation from abroad and the presence of active mosquito vectors remain significant, necessitating the continued intensification of prevention and control efforts.
