Tesla's chronic payment delays to suppliers in the North American market have resulted in the collapse of at least two small American companies. Over the past five years, contractors in Texas have filed lien claims totaling over $110 million against Tesla, with more than $24 million still outstanding. This stands in stark contrast to Apple's construction of its headquarters in the same state, where lien amounts owed amounted to merely $1.2 million—less than one-tenth of Tesla's unpaid debt.
