On July 21st, Garuda Indonesia announced that it is in discussions with Boeing regarding the acquisition of aircraft, while also engaging with multiple potential financiers. The airline and Boeing are jointly reviewing specifications that cater to the needs of the target market segment, inclusive of the delivery timeline. This procurement plan serves as a cornerstone of Garuda Indonesia's long-term reorganization strategy, aimed at enhancing its fleet and refining its route network over the next five years. On the same day, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, confirmed that negotiations with Boeing for the purchase of 50 aircraft are ongoing, albeit no agreement has been finalized as of yet.
