At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on July 21, Liu Wei, the Minister of Transport, announced that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China has established the world's largest high-speed railway network, expressway network, and postal express delivery network. Notably, 81.5% of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network has been operational, spanning a total distance of 48,000 kilometers, which constitutes over 70% of the global total. Furthermore, 33 national expressway mainlines have been largely completed, covering a distance of 191,000 kilometers. Additionally, 70.4% of the "Four Vertical and Four Horizontal and Two Networks" national high-grade waterways have met the set standards, while China's port scale remains the largest globally. Aviation services now cover 92.6% of prefecture-level administrative units and 91.2% of the population. Lastly, the postal industry boasts more than 500,000 business outlets.
