On July 19, the Luoyang Catering and Hotel Industry Association, alongside the Shandong Provincial Culinary Association, jointly released a statement, appealing to the three major takeout platforms—Taobao Flash Sale (Ele.me), JD.com, and Meituan—to halt irrational and "involutionary" competition practices. The statement demands that these platforms immediately cease offering excessive subsidies, terminate any subsidy activities that fall below cost price, and prohibit the coercive allocation of subsidies. Furthermore, the statement encourages the platforms to transition towards a model of high-quality development, advocating for clear subsidy limits and payment term guarantees.

Previously, the State Administration for Market Regulation had summoned these three platform enterprises, urging them to standardize their promotional activities and foster the healthy and sustainable growth of the catering service industry.
