In the wake of Typhoon Wipha (No. 6), Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, and neighboring regions are anticipated to experience torrential downpours over the next three days, with localized regions bracing for exceptionally heavy rainfall. The Ministry of Natural Resources has conducted an assessment and determined that the risk of geological disasters is notably elevated in western Guangdong, southeast Guangxi, western Hainan, and other specified areas. Consequently, at 10:00 AM on July 19, the Ministry activated a Level IV emergency response for geological disaster prevention. This directive mandates the Departments of Natural Resources in these three provinces and regions to intensify their prevention and response strategies, ensuring robust monitoring and early warning systems are in place.
