Li Liang, Vice President of Douyin Group, has cautioned parents about a surge in fraudulent activities aimed at minors on the platform, especially as summer vacation approaches. He encourages parents to educate themselves and their children about these scam tactics to bolster their anti-fraud awareness. As a preventive measure, he recommends enabling the minor mode, which restricts private messaging, chatting, commenting, recharging, rewarding, and other potentially risky operations. Recently, Douyin has identified instances where fraudulent accounts lure minors to other platforms by promising "free novels" or "free game accounts," only to later threaten them with false police impersonations demanding transfers. From July 1st to 15th alone, Douyin has banned 3,600 such accounts in violation of its policies.
