At a press conference on July 18, Tao Qing, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), announced that the ministry will persist in fostering high-quality development within the copper, aluminum, and gold industries, while also introducing a fresh set of work plans aimed at stabilizing growth in the non-ferrous metal sector. Regarding growth stabilization, the focus will be on balancing supply and demand, expanding demand through efficient resource utilization, elevating the quality of advanced processing materials, fostering the upgrading of bulk consumption, and nurturing emerging consumer markets, thereby achieving dual advancements in both quality and efficiency within the industry. In terms of fostering transformation, Tao Qing emphasized that MIIT will incentivize innovation in new materials, green and low-carbon process technologies for non-ferrous metals, establish green mines, factories, and industrial parks, and accelerate digital transformation efforts, including the cultivation of exemplary scenarios, benchmark factories, and enterprises. Additionally, the ministry will deploy large-scale models for the non-ferrous metal industry and deepen the integration of artificial intelligence technology within the sector.
