On June 12, an Air India Boeing 787-8 passenger aircraft crashed during takeoff, claiming the lives of 274 individuals, including 33 on the ground. Following the tragedy, both black boxes were retrieved and sent to the United States for detailed analysis. On July 12, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of India issued a preliminary investigation report, which revealed that shortly after takeoff, the fuel switches of both engines were almost simultaneously toggled from "on" to "off," leading to an in-flight engine stall. The cockpit voice recorder indicated that one pilot expressed bewilderment over the fuel cut-off, while the other denied any involvement in the maneuver. Despite subsequent attempts to reactivate the fuel supply switches, the aircraft was beyond recovery.
